Santos Expected to Plead Guilty To Fraud Charges

George Santos is expected to plead guilty to federal fraud charges during a hearing on Monday in Long Island, according to sources.

The former Republican congressman, who faces 23 felony charges related to defrauding donors, lying about his finances, and misusing unemployment benefits, could avoid a trial scheduled for next month.

The specific charges to which he will plead guilty and the potential sentence are not yet clear.

Santos, recently expelled from the House of Representatives, has previously pleaded not guilty to these charges, ABC News has reported.

Two of his associates, including his former campaign treasurer, have already pleaded guilty.
