A woman was killed by a crocodile while bathing in a river on Indonesia’s Maluku islands, with villagers later recovering parts of her body from the slaughtered animal.
Halima Rahakbauw, 54, was attacked after spending the morning searching for clams. Villagers began searching when she failed to return home, eventually finding a sandal and body parts in the river.
The crocodile, approximately four meters long, was killed by police, and the villagers retrieved her remains from its stomach, CBS News has reported.
This incident follows a series of recent deadly animal attacks in Indonesia, including other crocodile and python attacks.
