Boardwalk Robotics has introduced “Alex,” a new humanoid robot designed to enhance productivity and efficiency across various industries.
Unlike traditional humanoids, Alex lacks legs but excels in tasks like organizing and cleaning.
Boardwalk, founded in 2017, has partnered with the Institute for Human Machine Cognition (IHMC) to develop advanced robots, including the Nadia humanoid, known for its dynamic locomotion research and recent performance in a boxing ring.
Alex features 19 degrees of freedom, high-speed joints, and a versatile design, making it suitable for tasks in manufacturing, logistics, and maintenance, Interesting Engineering has reported.
Boardwalk aims to use Alex’s AI-powered capabilities to streamline operations, automate tasks, and support vital maintenance roles across multiple sectors.
