Five people were killed in a suspected murder-suicide in a quiet Nassau County neighborhood on Sunday, just days after the family’s matriarch, Theresa Martha DeLucia, passed away.
The victims were found shot to death in their home on Wyoming Court in Syosset, while the gunman took his own life on the front lawn.
The family had been preparing to sell the house, valued at nearly $900,000, following DeLucia’s death.
The incident occurred shortly before a local real estate agent was scheduled to meet with the family to discuss the sale, The New York Post has reported.
The Nassau County Police Commissioner confirmed it appeared to be a murder-suicide.
