Five die in Ukrainian strike on Belgorod, as Russian raid harms journalists

At least five people were killed and 13 others wounded in an overnight Ukrainian strike on the Belgorod region in Russia, including three minors, according to regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.

The attack comes amid increased Ukrainian strikes inside Russian territory following a surprise offensive into the Kursk region.

In response, Russia’s Defense Ministry has sent more troops and artillery to the region.

Meanwhile, in Ukraine, a Russian strike hit a hotel in Kramatorsk, wounding two journalists and leaving one missing, Al-Jazeera has reported.

Russia also launched missiles and drones across northern and eastern Ukraine, causing additional casualties and damage.
