Over 200 Republicans, who previously worked for former President George W. Bush, the late Sen. John McCain, and Sen. Mitt Romney, have endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president in an open letter.
This letter, signed by 238 individuals, follows the Democratic National Convention, which featured several Republican detractors of the GOP nominee.
The group, which includes former staffers of Bush, McCain, and Romney, had similarly supported President Biden in 2020.
Despite ideological differences with Harris, they expressed concern over the prospect of another Trump presidency, urging moderate Republicans and independents to support Harris and her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz, USA Today has reported.
The letter emphasizes the potential harm to democracy both domestically and internationally if Trump were re-elected.
