Visiting Berlin, UK’s Starmer vows relations ‘reset’ with EU

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer made his first bilateral visit to Germany since taking office, meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin.

The visit, marked by military honors, follows Starmer’s Labour Party’s victory in the July 4 general election.

Despite recent unrest in the UK due to anti-immigration riots, Starmer emphasized his commitment to rebuilding trust with European allies post-Brexit, while ruling out rejoining the EU, the DW has reported.

His government highlighted the importance of strengthening ties with Germany to address issues like illegal migration and economic growth.
