Next month’s debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump will feature strict rules: no audience, no live microphones between speaking turns, and no written notes.
ABC News, the host network, shared these guidelines with both campaigns this week.
The debate, scheduled for September 10, is set to follow similar rules as the June Biden-Trump debate, which saw controversy over microphone muting.
Harris’s campaign is still discussing the microphone policy with ABC, advocating for live mics to allow for more substantive exchanges, PBS has reported.
The debate will be moderated by David Muir and Linsey Davis at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.
