X goes offline in Brazil after Elon’s refusal to comply

X, one of the world’s most popular social networks, was blocked in Brazil on Saturday after Elon Musk refused to comply with local laws.

The ban, enforced by internet providers and mobile companies, left millions of Brazilian users unable to access the platform.

In response, Bluesky gained 500,000 new users in two days, including prominent Brazilian influencer Felipe Neto, The Guardian has reported.

The ban follows a prolonged legal dispute between Brazil’s supreme court and Musk over compliance with local regulations.
