Georgia shooter makes court appearance and dodges death penalty

Colt Gray, 14, appeared in court facing four counts of felony murder after allegedly killing four and injuring nine others in a shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia.

Gray, who will be tried as an adult, faces life in prison if convicted. Judge Currie Mingledorff clarified that the death penalty is not an option due to Gray’s age.

The victims include two students, Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, and two teachers, Richard Aspinwall and Christina Irimie, the U.S. Sun has reported.

Nine others were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
