Hunter Biden changed his plea to guilty before his trial began, allowing him to avoid a nearly month-long trial with damaging testimony.

The move has fueled speculation that President Joe Biden might pardon or commute his son’s sentences.

Hunter was indicted in December on nine tax charges, including three felonies related to tax evasion and filing false returns for 2018.

He could face up to 17 years in prison if convicted, Breitbart News has reported.

The terms of the plea deal and whether the judge will accept it were not immediately disclosed.
