The mother of Colt Gray, the 14-year-old charged with murder in the fatal shooting of four people at his Georgia high school, called the school before the incident, warning staff of an “extreme emergency” involving her son, according to a relative.
Gray’s mother had urged the school counselor to immediately check on him.
Gray is charged with murdering two students and two teachers at Apalachee High School, while his father faces second-degree murder charges for providing the rifle, NBC News has reported.
Gray had struggled with his parents’ separation and bullying, but a previous investigation into a threat he allegedly posted online was closed due to lack of evidence.
