Shooting attack at the West Bank-Jordan border crossing kills 3 Israelis

Three Israelis were killed in a shooting at the Allenby Bridge Crossing between the West Bank and Jordan.

The gunman, identified as retired Jordanian soldier Maher al-Jazi, opened fire from a truck before being killed by Israeli forces.

Jordan condemned the attack but called it an individual act. The Allenby crossing was temporarily closed, and Israel blamed the attack on its broader conflict with Iran and militant groups, the Associated Press has reported.

Violence has surged in the region since the war in Gaza began, with ongoing clashes and airstrikes causing significant casualties and destruction.

Efforts to broker a ceasefire have repeatedly stalled.
