Major grocery chain hiring 13,000 workers, raising starting pay to up to $23 per hour

Discount grocery chain Aldi will hire 13,000 additional workers for the holiday season, increasing the average hourly wage to $23.

New hires, working in stores and warehouses, will start at $18 to $23 per hour depending on the role.

Aldi, which operates over 2,000 stores across 36 states with a current workforce of more than 49,000, offers health insurance, paid time off, flexible scheduling, and 100% paid parental and caregiver leave for those working over 30 hours a week, AL.com has reported.

The company emphasizes career growth, with 70% of assistant store managers and 43% of managers promoted from within.
