Houthis fire new hypersonic missile at Tel Aviv

The Houthis claimed responsibility for launching a ballistic missile towards central Israel, describing it as a new hypersonic missile that traveled 2,040 km in 11.5 minutes.

Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree stated the missile targeted a military site near Tel Aviv and successfully evaded Israel’s defense systems, causing significant panic among Israelis, with over two million taking shelter.

Saree warned of future strikes marking the first anniversary of the October 7 events and reiterated Yemen’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause.

Following the missile launch, sirens sounded across various cities in central Israel, prompting evacuations at Ben Gurion Airport and on public transport, YNet News has reported.

Houthi officials indicated more surprises are expected, and large crowds in Yemen celebrated the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.
