Authorities have shifted their strategy in the search for Joseph Couch, the suspected gunman in a highway shooting in Kentucky.
After 11 days of searching 28,000 acres of forest, with no leads, law enforcement has redirected efforts to patrol local communities.
Couch is accused of shooting at 12 vehicles on I-75, wounding five people. Despite extensive ground and air searches, authorities are unsure of his location, the Associated Press has reported.
Schools in the area have reopened with increased security, and police are bolstering patrols to reassure residents while continuing the search. Couch remains at large.
