Isolated Netanyahu Resists Pressure to End Conflicts

International efforts to isolate and penalize Israel for its actions in Gaza are prominently on display at the U.N. General Assembly this week, where leaders are expected to call for an end to the conflict.

Despite nearly a year of diplomatic efforts, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remains committed to defeating Hamas following the deadly October 7 attacks.

While the U.S. continues to support Israel, critics argue for more pressure on the nation, including withholding arms and vetoing resolutions that could enforce change, the Wall Street Journal has reported.

As tensions rise, especially with Hezbollah, U.N. resolutions criticizing Israel have not led to substantial action or policy shifts, highlighting the limitations of the U.N. amid ongoing humanitarian crises.
