Israeli commandos are currently conducting a raid in southern Lebanon, with indications that more forces may be deployed, according to a senior U.S. official.

This follows earlier intelligence-gathering operations as Israel prepares for a potential limited ground offensive.

However, U.S. officials believe Israel is not ready for a major ground incursion due to troop strain from ongoing operations in Gaza.

Former Israeli military intelligence chief Tamir Hayman emphasized the need for Israel to decide its objectives, whether to establish a long-term security buffer or conduct a temporary mission to dismantle Hezbollah’s infrastructure, reported by NPR.

Hezbollah’s acting leader stated their fighters are prepared for any Israeli ground invasion.
