Ohio teen admits to causing fatal tanker crash that killed five in Illinois

A 17-year-old Ohio girl has admitted to cutting off a tanker truck, causing a crash that led to the deaths of five people due to a toxic chemical spill, according to a federal report.

The incident occurred in Illinois last year when the truck was forced off the road to avoid a head-on collision.

The truck lost control and spilled ammonia, killing five people from chemical exposure.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has released a factual report, with further analysis and conclusions expected later, ABC 6 has reported.

The truck driver survived.
