US launches attacks on Iran-backed Houthis

The United States launched airstrikes on Iran-backed Houthi rebels, hitting over a dozen targets in Yemen.

The strikes, in coordination with the UK, targeted extremist bases and weapons installations following attacks on US warships in the Red Sea.

Key locations included Hodeida, Sanaa, and Bayda provinces. The Houthis launched ballistic missiles and drones at US vessels, which were intercepted, the U.S. Sun has reported.

The rebels, who have targeted over 80 ships since the Israel-Hamas war began, claim they are acting in solidarity with Palestinians and aim to end Israel’s campaign in Gaza.
