Louisiana girl, 11, and uncle gunned down in ‘targeted’ shooting while blowing up birthday balloons

An 11-year-old girl, Samiya McClain, and her 50-year-old uncle, Ron Tate, were fatally shot in a “targeted” attack while preparing for a toddler’s birthday party at their home in LaPlace, Louisiana, on Friday night.

The shooting occurred around 11:48 p.m. when an unidentified assailant fired multiple shots into the home, striking the duo and injuring a third victim, a woman who was grazed by a bullet.

Both McClain and Tate were pronounced dead at a local hospital, as reported by The Mirror.

Authorities believe the incident was a planned attack and are investigating, asking anyone with information to come forward.
