A congressional report reveals that U.S. federal research funds are unintentionally advancing China’s military technology, including hypersonic weapons and AI.

Due to weak regulations, American universities have collaborated with Chinese institutions, funded by Pentagon and U.S. intelligence grants, aiding China’s military despite worsening U.S.-China relations.

Over 8,800 Pentagon-backed projects involved Chinese researchers, with many having direct military applications, the Washington Free Beacon has reported.

Top universities like Berkeley, Georgia Tech, and Pitt were found partnering with Chinese military-linked entities, violating the Higher Education Act by failing to report foreign funding.

Despite these findings, the Biden administration has not pursued enforcement.
