Prince William and Princess Kate made a surprise visit to Southport, England, on Thursday to meet with the families of three children killed in a knife attack in July.
This marked Kate’s first public appearance since completing chemotherapy.
The children, Bebe King, 6, Elsie Dot Stancombe, 7, and Alice da Silva Aguiar, 9, were tragically fatally stabbed during a Taylor Swift-themed dance class.
During their visit, the royal couple also met with emergency responders and mental health practitioners who supported the community in the aftermath of the incident.
Kate expressed gratitude for the support given to the families, while William praised the responders as “heroes” and encouraged them to prioritize their own well-being.
Following the visit, the couple shared on social media the importance of supporting one another during such tragedies, CNN has reported.
Kate, who is easing back into public life after her treatment, expressed her eagerness to resume engagements, while King Charles III had previously visited the area to support the affected families and thank emergency workers.
