Heavy Israeli bombardment in northern Gaza as U.N. says Lebanon peacekeepers fired on again

On Saturday, Palestinians in northern Gaza reported heavy Israeli bombardment following airstrikes that killed at least 22 people.

Israel has urged civilians in northern Gaza and southern Lebanon to evacuate as part of its offensive against Hamas and Hezbollah.

In Lebanon, U.N. peacekeepers reported being targeted again, with one peacekeeper injured. This incident followed Israeli military fire on the peacekeeping headquarters, wounding two personnel.

U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin expressed concern about these actions during a call with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, CBS News has reported.

Israel’s military has intensified operations in both northern Gaza and against Hezbollah, claiming to have killed 50 militants, while over one million people have been displaced amid escalating violence.
