American soldiers to operate missile defense system in Israel

The U.S. has deployed a THAAD anti-ballistic missile system and a 100-member crew to Israel to defend against potential missile attacks from Iran.

This move highlights the U.S.’s commitment to Israel’s defense amid rising tensions, following Iran’s warning that it has no “redlines” in the conflict.

U.S. President Joe Biden authorized the deployment, and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin coordinated with Israeli officials, The Jerusalem Post has reported.

The THAAD system aims to bolster Israel’s air defenses after recent Iranian missile strikes, signaling possible Israeli retaliation and increasing the risk of U.S. involvement in the conflict.
