A man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of 34-year-old Alyssa Lokits, who was killed while exercising on a popular walking trail in Nashville, Tennessee.

Paul Park, 29, was taken into custody on Tuesday, following the incident on Mill Creek Greenway.

Witnesses reported hearing Lokits scream for help and saw a man on top of her before gunshots were fired.

Lokits was found with a gunshot wound and later died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, NBC News has reported.

Police praised the investigative work that led to Park’s arrest, though charges have not yet been specified.
