Former Canadian Olympian is accused of being a fugitive drug lord

Former Canadian Olympian snowboarder Ryan Wedding, 43, is now a fugitive, accused of leading a violent international drug trafficking ring connected to the Sinaloa Cartel.

Wedding allegedly orchestrated large cocaine shipments from Colombia to Mexico, the U.S., and Canada, and is accused of ordering multiple killings.

A federal arrest warrant was issued for him in Los Angeles, and he may be hiding in Mexico, NPR has reported.

Authorities intercepted 1.8 metric tons of cocaine, guns, cash, and cryptocurrency as part of the investigation, dubbed “Operation Giant Slalom.” Wedding faces life in prison if convicted.
