In response to an FCC complaint alleging “deceitful editing,” CBS’s 60 Minutes defended its editing of Vice President Kamala Harris’s interview aired on October 7.
The program stated that claims of deceit are false, explaining that it presented different excerpts of her responses to the same question for clarity and conciseness.
The statement noted that the portion shown on 60 Minutes was more succinct, allowing for a broader discussion in the segment.
The controversy arose from differing responses Harris gave about U.S. influence over Israeli actions in the Gaza war, with one version criticized as a “word salad,” THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER has reported.
Former President Donald Trump condemned the interview as “an unprecedented scandal” and accused the show of election interference to make Harris appear more favorable.
