These incidents contribute to 1,247 homicides in the first two weeks of Sheinbaum’s term, raising doubts about her ability to curb cartel-led violence, Reuters has reported.

Sheinbaum aims to combine her predecessor’s social policies with stronger intelligence and security measures, though critics argue López Obrador’s approach allowed cartels to grow.
