Over 100 bipartisan U.S. lawmakers have warned the U.N. that U.S. funding could be at risk if it downgrades Israel’s status in response to the conflict with Hamas.
In a letter led by Representatives Mike Lawler and Jared Moskowitz, lawmakers expressed concerns over U.N. actions they view as undermining Israel’s self-defense.
The letter, signed by 105 House members, emphasized that any reduction in Israel’s standing would prompt a corresponding reduction in U.S. support to the U.N, Fox News has reported.
The lawmakers also criticized the U.N.’s recent resolution calling for Israel to return all land settled since 1967.
