Tropical Storm Trami left at least 85 dead and 41 missing in the Philippines, with many areas still isolated and needing rescue.

President Marcos reported that heavy rainfall overwhelmed flood defenses, causing massive flooding and landslides.

Rescuers continue to search for the missing, as over 5 million people were in the storm’s path, and nearly 500,000 sought refuge in emergency shelters, the Associated Press has reported.

Marcos pledged to advance a major flood control project to address future climate challenges, while forecasters warn Trami could make a U-turn, potentially bringing further impact to the region.
