Lebanon says 60 killed in Israel strikes on eastern valley

Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley killed at least 60 people, including two children, and injured 58, according to Lebanon’s health ministry.

The strikes targeted 16 areas in the Hezbollah-controlled Baalbek region, with the town of Al-Allaq hardest hit, losing 16 family members in one attack.

Governor Bachie Khodr called it the “most violent” assault since Israel’s conflict escalation against Hezbollah.

Additional attacks on Tyre left seven dead, with Hezbollah retaliating by firing rockets near Haifa, BBC has reported.

Cross-border hostilities began after Hezbollah supported Palestinian actions on October 8, leading to significant casualties and displacement in Lebanon.
