Man who attacked Pelosi’s husband sentenced to life without parole

A California judge sentenced David DePape to life in prison without parole for breaking into Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s home and attacking her husband, Paul Pelosi, with a hammer on October 28, 2022.

DePape, 44, had previously received a 30-year federal sentence for related crimes. He was found guilty of aggravated kidnapping, first-degree burglary, and other offenses.

During the sentencing, Judge Harry Dorfman emphasized that DePape would never be paroled.

Although his defense attorney claimed DePape had previously led a law-abiding life, he took the opportunity to express conspiracy theories in court, NBC News has reported.

San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins condemned DePape’s actions as a threat to democracy and stated he is now being held accountable for his crimes.
