President Biden’s remark on Tuesday sparked controversy when he said, “The only garbage I see out there is [Trump’s] supporters,” referring to rhetoric from a recent Trump rally where Puerto Rico was derogatorily labeled “a floating island of garbage.”

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre later clarified that Biden wasn’t broadly calling Trump supporters garbage, insisting he views himself as president for all Americans.

This despite that fact that President Biden, on video, clearly called Trump supporters garbage, Fox News has reported.

Vice President Kamala Harris also noted Biden’s follow-up statement, which focused on condemning hateful rhetoric, not individuals.
