South Florida serial bank robber Terry Meach, who requested maximum prison time to avoid “self-destruction” and embrace prison life, was sentenced to 20 years last week.
Meach, who openly admitted to repeated offenses, had been previously imprisoned for bank robberies in 2012 and 2016.
Just two weeks after his most recent release in February, he committed multiple robberies, once even attempting to surrender to deputies, warning, “If you don’t take me today, I’m going to rob another bank,” the Miami Herald has reported.
Despite requesting additional prison time for stability, his sentence only covered one count of his crimes.
