Arizona authorities allege that an 18-year-old killed his mother, Mary Collier, and tried to cover it up by falsely reporting her as kidnapped.

A jogger found Collier’s body in a field in San Tan Valley on Wednesday, shortly before her son called 911 about her supposed abduction.

Police quickly identified Collier’s body and named her son as the suspect. He was found at home with self-inflicted injuries and later charged with first-degree murder, NBC News has reported.

A GoFundMe has been set up to cover funeral expenses, describing Collier as a caring mother of four.
