Attorneys for Sean “Diddy” Combs have requested a gag order to prevent potential witnesses from discussing his criminal case, citing a “deluge of improper pretrial publicity” that undermines his right to a fair trial.
This request follows grand jury testimony from a music producer claiming to have a videotape of Combs involved in sexual assaults, which Combs’ lawyers argue has led to misleading media narratives.
Combs faces charges including racketeering and sex trafficking and has pleaded not guilty, ABC News has reported.
Prosecutors oppose the gag order, noting that civil plaintiffs in lawsuits against Combs are not part of the criminal proceedings.
