Former Presidents Obama and Clinton, along with former first ladies Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton, congratulated President-elect Donald Trump on his historic 2024 victory.
Despite campaigning heavily for Kamala Harris, who suffered one of the biggest Democratic defeats since 1984, the Obamas and Clintons acknowledged the results and stressed the importance of democracy and a peaceful transfer of power.
In their statements, the Obamas and Clintons praised Harris’s campaign, attributed Democratic challenges to issues like inflation and the pandemic, and expressed hope that Trump would govern for all Americans, THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER has reported.
