China’s Xi vows to work with Trump during meeting with Biden

Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Joe Biden met on the sidelines of the APEC forum in Lima, Peru, marking their first conversation in seven months.

Xi reiterated China’s goal for a stable and sustainable U.S.-China relationship and expressed readiness to work with President-elect Trump’s administration.

Biden emphasized the importance of leader-to-leader talks after his presidency ends.

The two discussed major issues including trade, Taiwan, cybercrime, and the South China Sea, with no major breakthroughs reported.

They also agreed that humans, not AI, should control nuclear weapons, Fox News has reported.

Biden raised concerns over China’s ally North Korea, urging Beijing to use its influence to prevent further escalation in the Ukraine conflict.
