India successfully tested a domestically developed long-range hypersonic missile, marking a major milestone in its military capabilities.
The missile, created by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), can carry payloads over 1,500 km (930 miles) and demonstrated accurate terminal maneuvers during the test.
The launch occurred from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha, CNN has reported.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh called the test a “historic achievement,” positioning India among a small group of nations with advanced hypersonic missile technology, alongside China, Russia, and the U.S.
