Vladimir Putin has approved a new nuclear doctrine, threatening nuclear retaliation if Ukraine uses long-range Western missiles on Russian soil.
This follows the U.S. decision to allow Ukraine to fire ATACMS rockets inside Russia, intensifying the conflict.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed the policy permits nuclear response to conventional weapon aggression supported by nuclear-armed states, the U.S. Sun has reported.
Pro-Putin figures, including Dmitry Kiselyov and Andrey Gurulev, warned of potential nuclear strikes on Western targets like the UK, escalating tensions as Russia accuses the West of crossing a “red line.”
