Texas officials have approved a controversial public school curriculum, Bluebonnet Learning, that incorporates Christian teachings from the Bible starting in kindergarten.
The curriculum, set for possible use in the 2025-26 school year, has faced criticism for focusing disproportionately on Christianity over other religions.
Lessons include biblical content such as Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, Genesis-inspired art, and New Testament parables, with limited mention of other faiths.
Supporters argue the materials are educational and constitutional, while critics claim they violate the separation of church and state, CNN has reported.
A final vote on the curriculum is scheduled for Friday.
