Rand Paul Breaks With Trump on Two Key Administration Promises

Senator Rand Paul disagreed with President-elect Donald Trump’s proposals on both military involvement in deportations and tariffs during an appearance on CBS’ Face the Nation.

Paul called Trump’s plan to use the military for mass deportations “illegal” and a “terrible image,” emphasizing the importance of following legal processes through domestic policing.

He also strongly opposed Trump’s tariff policies, arguing that tariffs harm consumers and international trade benefits the U.S. economy by making citizens wealthier, the Daily Beast has reported.

Paul advocated for globalism and the positive impact of trade, diverging sharply from Trump’s stance on these issues.
