Five people are missing after a 50-foot fishing boat capsized near Couverden Point, Alaska, early Sunday, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

A mayday call and an emergency beacon signal were received, but only evidence of the boat’s capsizing has been found.

Rescue efforts, involving the Coast Guard, a helicopter team, and Good Samaritans, continue amid harsh conditions with 60 mph winds and 6-foot sea swells, ABC News has reported.

The search remains ongoing.
