Enrique Tarrio, former Proud Boys leader, testified on Thursday at the trial of retired police Lt. Shane Lamond, accused of leaking confidential information to him.
Tarrio, who is serving a 22-year sentence for his role in the Capitol riot, initially refused to answer questions about January 6, prompting a federal judge to warn him he could face contempt charges.
Despite complaints that the prosecutor had too much leeway in questioning, Tarrio eventually completed his testimony without sanctions.
Lamond is accused of providing Tarrio with information about an investigation into the Proud Boys’ burning of a Black Lives Matter banner in 2020, Associated Press has reported.
Tarrio denied confessing to Lamond or receiving confidential details.
