Toyota’s humanoid robot, CUE6, set a new Guinness World Record by making the farthest basketball shot by a humanoid robot, sinking a shot from 24.55 meters (80 feet 6 inches) in Nagakute, Japan, on September 26.
This achievement marks CUE6’s second Guinness title.
Originally developed in 2017 by nine Toyota volunteers as a basketball-playing robot, CUE has progressively improved its shooting accuracy and range over the years, Interesting Engineering has reported.
Using AI, CUE6 can learn from errors, adjusting its posture, arm position, and shot strength, much like a human athlete.
