A Virginia man, Lester C. Harvey Jr., 58, died after being struck by a bear that fell from a tree during a hunting trip.

The bear had been chased up the tree by hunters and shot, causing it to fall and hit Harvey.

Despite being hospitalized in serious condition, he later passed away.

Harvey, a contractor and avid outdoorsman, is survived by his wife, five children, and eight grandchildren, the International Business Times has reported.

Wildlife officials stated no charges will be filed in the incident.
