U.S. Border Patrol agents in Washington’s Blaine Sector discovered two abandoned backpacks near the Canadian border containing 78 pounds of cocaine, valued at $1.1 million.
The drugs, packed in 30 brick-like packages, were found in a wooded area near Lynden and turned over to the DEA.
Authorities have not disclosed how the bags ended up there or if any arrests have been made, ABC News has reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
