FBI finds cooler filled with sulfuric acid in NOLA New Year’s probe

FBI agents, along with Harris County Sheriff’s deputies, investigated a storage unit in northwest Harris County where they discovered a cooler containing bottles of sulfuric acid.

The bottles were reportedly purchased from a local hardware store.

The investigation is connected to the deadly New Orleans attack, but authorities confirmed there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

The storage facility, SpareBox Storage, is normally quiet, with self-service kiosks and minimal staff interaction, NBC 2 Houston has reported.

The facility declined to comment on the investigation.
