Samson Fussner, 28, attempted a mass shooting at Yellowstone National Park in 2024, after months of expressing racist and white supremacist views.
Prosecutors revealed in court documents that Fussner ranted about his mental health issues, racist ideas, and plans for mass violence.
He held a woman hostage at the park before engaging in a shootout with park rangers on July 4th.
Fussner had texted his brother about his hatred for Yellowstone and his obsession with the woman.
He died in the shootout after being spotted by rangers, CBS News has reported.
Authorities are seeking the forfeiture of his seized weapons and vehicle.
